I purchased a friend for my other frog today. He/she should come on Thursday so I want to be sure everything is right. If I need to adjust anything I'd like to do so as soon as possible. Any ideas?
My tank is a 29 gallon. It has the reptile waterfall and filter. There is also a fine bubbler in the back water of the tank for aeration. Tap water is dechlorinated, of course. Daytime temp is about 76 degrees with the UV light on. It is a Repti Glo 5.0 24" top light, new. I have a Heat Glo 50 watt infared lamp light in case the tank cools down but have not needed to use it. Nighttime temp is about 72 degrees. The tank has an open wired mesh lid. Most of my plants are artificial, but there are three small pond plants in the bottom. Although my betta keeps eating them. The water in the tank is approximately 2 1/2 inches tall. There are 3 larger rocks and the plants to climb out on. There are branches and plants along the sides and back of the tank at different climbing levels. The left side of the tank has a land area with reptile carpet and a water dish. And humidity ranges from 70-80%. I mist the tank twice a day. I purchase 1/4 to 1/2 inch crickets mostly and dust them with calcium/D3 powder.
Is there anything I'm missing or need to change? Should I decrease the "pond" water level?
My current female RETF has been very easy to care for and seems content and healthy. Eats, pees, poops, sleeps and wakes normally.
I'm a bit nervous about a baby one. I purchased her from Josh's frogs. She is estimated to be about 1 1/2". Much small than mine.
