Hey guys!
My female Dendrobates Tinctorius 'Cobalt' is doing fine. I was just noticeing that I sort of have a fruit fly problem. Awhile back I decided to use a banana to lure fruit flies to the middle of the tank. Not many fruit flies were finding it, so I let it be for almost 2 days. I took it out soon after right before it started browning. I didn't think there was a problem then.
Yesterday I misted my tank and wallah! Fruit flies! These were the kind that fly. I must have about 100 of them in there (although I must say the number greatly reduces everyday). I will come in at night and sometimes in the day time and she will be happily hunting with her vibrating toes and long purple tounge.
I have been hesitant to feed her more dusted fruit flies because of how much she is eating everyday. Are Dart Frogs like Pacman Frogs; stuffing themselves with whatever you give them while it is available, or will she stop when she is full enough? She pretty much has a very large supply in there. I figure that by the time she catches the dusted fruit flies, the calcium will have worn off.
Do you guys have any suggestions? Here is a video of her that I took tonight;

Thanks guys!
MeTree,
She looks to be taking care of those flies just fine on her own. When you get the male next month, trust me...you wont have a fly problem. Between the two of them they will polish off any random survivors. I occassionaly have gnats flying around my thumbnail tanks, but very rarely in my tinc tanks. Those guys are non stop eaters. Oh...the toe tapping is Morse Code to the flies...."C-o-m-e--O-u-t--I-t-s-- D-i-n-n-e-r --T-i-m-e"
Have you got any springtails in your substrate? They will normally deal with any flies that die before they are munched!
0.0.2 Ceratophrys cranwelli
0.0.3 Dendrobates azureus
0.0.4 Dendrobates tinctorius "Alanis" (tads)
3.3.0 Epipedobates anthonyi (+tads!)
0.0.1 Lepidobatrachus laevis
0.0.4 Pyllobates terribilis
0.0.3 Ranitomeya imitator "Chazuta"
0.0.3 Ranitomeya vanzolini
0.0.6 Xenopus laevis
Sounds like I don't need to worry about it for now. That is good! I will certainly keep an eye on the population numbers in case Grace goes crazy one day.
I don't have any springtails, yet. I hope to get some soon, though.
