Personally, I wouldn't mix any species together.
Frank Indiviglio discusses keeping Grey Tree Frogs with other frogs and toads in one of his blog entries at That Reptile Blog if you are really keen on mixing animals.
He says he has kept a Gray with a Barking. I tried that... No more Grays.

What about canyon treefrogs?

I've only mixed when I've had large tanks and personally raised the amphibians myself (from tads). I've kept wood frogs with toads and spring peepers with toads. I currently keep a toad with my grays but the tank is so large and the tree frogs stay high up. They're all local animals and I'm confident in my abilities and in the set up but this is a far as I'd ever go with mixing. So far so good.
I don't think I've ever mixed anything that I caught in the wild as an adult. Do Barking and Gray Tree Frog distributions overlap?
I have a barking tree frog with some green tree frogs and a couple squirrel tree frogs, none have been eaten so far and they have been together for about 6 months.
