Feeding Woodlice/Rolly-polly/pill bugs.....

Hello there. I am pretty new to frog raising, and the site, so please bear with. I have 3 total Green Tree Frogs. I also have 2 that are to be believed as Cope's Grey Tree Frog. And one still unidentified. I feed mine meal worms and crickets for now. I have tons of those little rolly polly bugs or whatever youd like to call them, around my house. Is it ok to feed those daily or every other day or whatever, to all of my frogs? I am still trying to learn the ropes and tricks. Thanks!

I'm unsure if woodlice can carry parasites that are transmittable to frogs (I have a vague recollection that the answer is no, they don't). I would tend to err on the side of caution though and not use the ones found in your house to feed the frogs. You could culture them yourself though as an occasional treat. For those of us keeping tropical frogs, we often stock terrariums with tropical woodlice (they are smaller and reproduce quickly).

Woodlice are high in calcium so are a good source of food. If you find ones with a blue tinge I can't remember if it's a virus or bacteria but it causes blue crystaline structures to grow on their backs so I would put any blue ones back.
