Default New to fbt..set up ?

I am taking care of my nephews fbt's, his mom wont let him keep them. We just got this setup and plan on doing more with it but have would like suggestions, we want to keep i simple and easy to clean, right now we do have a filter but water is cloudy after 2 days, any suggestions would be helpful. It is a 10 gallon with 2 fbt's

Im thinking the small rocks r holding the debris but not sure

hi amber, i might be wrong but looking at your filter, i either seems to be a water pump or just very small. i would suggest just upgrading it to something a little bigger with more media inside it. water generally goes cloudy when you get an ammonia spike and there is not enough 'good' bacteria, to break this down, this in turn can be very dangerous for the toads, also i'm sorry if you already know this, but never wash any part of your filter under tap water, clean it in the water you have removed from the tank whilst your doing water changes. also never fully clean it, a 'dirty', (using the word carefully) filter, is generally more beneficial.

in my set up i have a small filter that cycles around 50 to 200 litres an hour, and have it set fairly low.

hopefully this is all that the problem is, for the time being just do more regular water changes, every two or three days to stop this build up, i personally like to used conditioned tap water, over bottled.

well this is my setup, i got 2 fbt and they really like it and its super easy to clean since i just have a big water dish in there so i can take it out and put it back in no problem.

Thanks for the advice, It is a filter but very small, and I did not know not to wash the filter in tap water but I do now. I also use conditioned tap water. I am doing frequent water changes and plan to upgrade the filter soon.

That does seem easy to clean, mine isnt too hard its just cleaning the stones thats a pain. I might consider something like that but my gus love to swim so i might keep it like this for now

They need just a little more land space, maybe another rock or two. Other then that great first tank!

Thanks, and yes I am going to get another big rock I thought the smaller rocks would be more above water but with the filter had to make it deeper. I added a tree with a cave for hiding and they seem to like it.
