So today I got red eyed tres frogs in the mail. I ordered them off blackjungle, because I've heard good things about them. They were froglets which I was very disappointed about. No where on the order page did it say 'froglet' or 'baby.' I don't know why but I just assumed they would be adults. I wanted adults because they are much easier to take care, less fragile, and would actually eat. So anyways I just wanted some tips on caring for Red-Eyed Leaf Frog froglets. I have 2 in an arboreal tank I think its like 12 gallons, and I loaded the tank with plenty of crickets so I just hope they'll eat tonight. All tips I'm sure will be of great help.
Look at it this way, you know they are captive bred (they are, I've seen them in person at Black Jungle - they actually use my photo to sell those frogs). Adults are often wild caught animals in the pet trade. Captive bred frogs usually don't come with parasites or diseases. So your new frogs should grow up very healthy. Have a look through the care article on red eyes (click care articles at the top of this page). I believe it talks about how to feed the youngsters. The Gray Tree Frog care article is equally applicable for raising small tree frogs. For what it's worth, I'd rather have guaranteed captive bred frogs than mystery adults that were likely wild caught.

I definitely agree with John. CB Babies are always better than WC adults. Just keep them in a quiet room, don't bother them too much and maybe cover three or all four sides of your tank with paper so you can't look in and they can't look out. It always helped my frogs to adjust to their new homes when I did that.
I wish you luck! Just have faith, they should be fine if you do everything right.![]()

Just to add, frogs seem to grow pretty fast. You will have the satisfaction and bond with them for having raised them from tiny babies.
