hey guys i have decided i really want to work in some real plants in my frogs' homes. i wondering what is the best dirt and what are goos plants....basicaly i need the 411 on how this type of set up works and how i can do it...plz help
For your Dumpy and Green Tree Frogs I would suggest Good stiff leaf Bromeliads, Pothos, and Snake plants which are all easy to grow and your basic Daylight CFL bulbs will provide enough lighting to support them. All can be obtained at local florist shop and your bigger box hardware stores.
Dumpy's will usually trash many smaller terrarium plants just due to their aggressive eating nature and their size.
As for your pacman, hopefully someone else will chime in here.
1.0.0 Red Eyed Leaf/ Frog - Agalychnis callidryas
1.1.1 Bumblebee Dart Frog - Dendrobates leucomelas
1.1.0 Dendrobates truncatus - Yellow Striped
1.1.1 Dendrobates tinctorius – Bakhuis Mountain
1.1.0 - Dendrobates tinctorius - Powder Blue
1.1.0 - Ranitomeya vanzolinii
I'm curious if anyone has live plants in their pac tanks...all the pictures I see are very bare!
You could also throw some moss and ferns in there. I know my fern has stood up pretty decently where some other plants havent. My frogs love their two ficus plants, so much that they destroyed them! The bromeliad has been great and they all love it. Even the biggest frog will stuff her big fat body between the leaves.
