Some of the toadlets are growing so quickly!! There is a distinct size difference between them now.
Here is a picture from the first week...
And now it's been 3 weeks...

Hi Amy, Great pics. Bet it is a lot of fun watching them. They sure look great.
1.0.0 Red Eyed Leaf/ Frog - Agalychnis callidryas
1.1.1 Bumblebee Dart Frog - Dendrobates leucomelas
1.1.0 Dendrobates truncatus - Yellow Striped
1.1.1 Dendrobates tinctorius – Bakhuis Mountain
1.1.0 - Dendrobates tinctorius - Powder Blue
1.1.0 - Ranitomeya vanzolinii
Wow, you weren't kidding about the difference in size. You might need to separate them soon. Grow faster, little ones! Cute pics, anyhow.
Out of curiosity, do you see any correlation between the ones growing faster to the amount of time they bask in the light, or a difference in appetite between the bigger and smaller ones?
Thanks guys! Yes, the size difference is quite impressive considering they're being raised in the exact same environment.
They all eat the same (I keep a close eye to make sure they all get their fair share) They bask the same, they all equally active. The biggest one (Clarice) is the one that does the toe twitching that I was worried about, but I guess she's just extra healthy!
The only difference up to this point is that the bigger two have started burrowing, the smaller ones do not, they might find a crevice between the moss to sit in, but that's all.
I am going to work this week on getting the 29 gal tank up and running. I will leave the two smaller ones in the 10 gallon and put the big ones in the 29 gallon tank. I don't want one of the tiny ones to become lunch.

Hi Amy the little toads bring me back to my childhood years when we had toads everywhere in NYC and on Long island we loved them and now with all the pesticides you can't even see a fly so sad but yet enjoy them while you have them god i miss those days thank you for sharing these precious frogs you brought me back to my you youth.
BG, we have HUNDREDS of these toads in our yard! We are an anti-pesticide family though with a very large property, so this may be why!
Hopefully people will eventually get the hint about fertilizers and pesticides and some of these little guys will make a bigger comeback.

Nice little toads you have there. I love the second photo it looks like the bigger toad is eyeing up the little one, "I'm gonna eat you" says the big toad.
Amy, a couple of yours are bigger, but I think I might have the fattest toadlet. It's growing, but sideways!
90% that is a young female.

Thanks, that's good to know! Those 4 pics were all of the slightly larger toadlet.
Do you think it's likely I have 2 females, seeing them both together? (Not that it's terribly important, but it would be nice to know if I might get eggs someday or not, and also for naming purposes.)
Edit: I just noticed from looking at this photo how I can tell these two apart for the time being, even if they were to become the same size. The one on the right has racing stripes!
Hey Amy - its amazing how they grow isn't it?
Pete - Very cute little fatty! Looking great!
I miss the pitter patter of little webbed feet - no babies this year, which are terribly cute, just great big fat guys/girls...
You definitely win in the fat section LOL Is that your soaker?
I would have never thought that you could tell that so early. I know that with my gray tree frogs, the girls certainly are quite fat with quite an appetite. I swear they are never full!!
Yes Greg, it is so much fun. My gray tree frogs were much bigger when I got them, Paddy is the only one that did any significant growing. It's fun to see the peepers I have and the toadlets starting so tiny and growing into healthy frogs and toads!
Also...I found a Fowler's Toad in my garden today! So now I can't be sure what I have. So far the cranial crests are not touching the paratoid glands, we will have to wait and see though!

Ahh yes, because we needed to be more confused LOL The fowler's I found was BIG though, at least 3 inches. I was pretty excited

They are looking good Amy love the colors on them and your photo skills are awesome
My toads seem to be growing very fast the last couple of days. There is almost no size gap between them now, and they're both plump and eating like mad. I almost bought them small crickets today, but I went with another FFF culture just to be on the safe side. We'll try the crickets next time. I'll see if I can get some tape measure pics soon. They must be approaching the 1" size now.
Nice Pete!! The small skinny one in those pics is the one I'm having trouble with. The small fat one hit a HUGE growth spurt and has almost caught up with the other two. I keep hoping the tiny little one does.

A few new pics today:
They're still not quite an inch long. Still feeding them fruit flies for now.
It's that time of week again...more toadlet pics!
By the way, if anyone can identify what the toe trouble is in the 3rd photo, please let me know. I have no idea what it is.
Pete by the looks of things you're doing a great job. I found a toad at my cousins house in Long island last week. It was more on the tan greenish side with red warts. After i watched it for an hour i released it. Btw did you collect them by your area?
