    I didn't know vinegar could be used to remove mineral deposits. Thanks for the info.

    Vinegar is acetic acid in water. Acid reacts with bases, and the mineral salts that cause limescale in tapwater are bases.

    I used salt as an abrasive to clean water marks on my tank, it worked really well. I didn't know you could use vinegar, thanks for the tip John!

    A razor blade works well too for removing mineral deposits.
