Egg Crate?

I read about making false bottoms and using egg crate, but i don't really know what it is.

What is it? If i get a bigger tank, i'm going to make a false bottom.

Egg Crate is usually found in the overhead light section of big box hardware stores. Average is about 12 - 14 dollars a sheet.

does anyone know where i could purchase some? ive only been able to find it on ebay and its rather expensive after shipping

In the US you can buy it at any Home Depot. They probably won't know what you mean if you say egg crate though.

Go to the section where the florescent light diffuser panels are located. You should see it there.

i don't know if you have an Ace Hardware store near you, but i bet they have it there. Well, i hope they do, because it's the only hardware store in my area. haha

I'm pretty sure Ace don't sell it. Lowes don't even sell it, just Home Depot. You can order it online too, but it's more expensive and difficult so ship. Check out bulk marine supply (google them).

I got mine at Home Depot but none of the workers had any idea what I was talking about...it ended up being by the ceiling fans in our store!
