As some of you know May 24 weekend we found a baby grey tree frog. Well its been 2months and it hasnt grown much in length if any. it is very active and agressive eater and I even recently upped its food. I ran out of calcium for a couple weeks a few weeks ago though =(.
The guy at the reptile store said in 2 months it should be almost doubled.
Any opinions help plz!
its probaby just about an inch.
hope pic helps to get an idea of size! its a bit fatter now though.![]()
I see people are reviewing this post but no suggestions, getting worried.

As long as he/she is eating and you are finding droppings, I would not be worried. If your seeing a weight loss then I would become concerned.
Just keep giving it a healthy diet, the calcium supplement, and gut load your crickets.

Both my forgs have a strict diet of crickets and yes I feed the crickets everyother day carrots, lettuce or fish flakes, I rotate cricket food. But as I said I ran out of calcium for a few weeks but no changes were seen in activity or feeding in that time.
What about what the Reptile person said ... should there be a significant growth difference in the past 2 months?
I have 4 Whites Tree frogs that were very similar in size when purchased. Now I have two large, one slightly smaller, and the one we call Spidy is more of the runt. All eat amazingly well, and some are just lazy when it comes to activity than others.
When we first got them, the runt stayed small as we watched the others get bigger, and then all of a sudden the runt had several growth spurts. Very healthy, crazy active at night, and the only frog that won't hand feed. He is still the smallest of the group, but definitely provides more entertainment than the others.

Hopefully thats the case here that its just a runt and nothing im doing is wrong, or that something was wrong when we caught him or her. If Sam is a female will remaining small have any issues if breeding becomes an option? And more importantly if Sam remains small will I be able to put Frodo and Sam in the same terrarium? We can't afford and dont have room for 2 =(. Right now Sam is in a large cricket keeper but that was intended only till she was large enough to join Frodo safely.
Assuming your fingers are not tiny, it's not a baby. It looks like an adult male.

Well my fingers are relatively short. But Sam is so tiny compared to Frodo the one in my avatar pic and Frodo has even grown since that pic was taken. Sam is about the length of Frodos butt to maybe neck if that. Frodo our adult male is probably 1.5 inches approx. and much plumpy. And Sam is maybe an inch. Im afraid hed still try and eat Sam am I over reacting?
imma try and find a ruler incase im off on measurements.
OK I remeasured with a ruler Frodo is just shy of 2 inches, and Sam is almost 1.25 inches.
I wouldn't worry. There's no absolute size requirement for these frogs. Are you sure Frodo is male?

Yes he calls all the time lol and loudly! I remeasured the frogs properly and reposted above on previous post. Both were on the glass so it was easy to measure butt to nose.
Ok im officially confused... going by size in the care sheets and other links I have read Frodo is a female.... but He calls all the time....
1.25 inches doesn't seem bad if it is a male gray tree frog. I don't think Leggy is much bigger than 1.25 inches. Paddy, my female, is a little over 2 inches and the other 2 females are somewhere in between.

So I should be 100% safe that Frodo wont try and eat Sam if I put them together? Sam 1.25... Frodo 2inches... and can a Female call I was told that was how I found out if Frodo was a male... he started calling so he was a male... am I wrong?
I would NOT put them together at this point. I have 3 Grays, one is gimpy and 1.25", one is a male over 2" (who calls reliably), and a female who is 2.25". There's no way I'd put the small one in with the larger ones and the size difference is almost the same as yours. I'm pretty sure they could get the little one down if they tried hard and I'm pretty positive they'd at least try, which could never be good even if they don't succeed.
As mentioned, your little one might be nearly full grown, so you can't expect rapid changes visible to your eyes at this point. Keep measuring Sam as consistently as you can to track growth.
This brings up an issue though in how to accurately measure snout to vent length on a frog apart from eyeballing it with a ruler when the frog is on the glass. Is there a standard accepted approach?
Thanks I will give it a lil more time to see if Sam gets any bigger. I dont want to take any chances =). But atleast I'm not as worried about his lack of growth seeing some only get that big. I am a lil suprised though it seems the males get bigger than posted on many sites they need to update that lol.
Here is a picture of Leggy and Paddy right before I put them in together. I thought Leggy would grow more, but I've had him since sometime in May and there has been very little growth. I was scared to put them together too, but everyone here gave me the go ahead.

Awsome pic =). The size difference is probably about the same but Sam is a lot skinnier hasnt plumped up yet, but seems to have gained a bit of weight recently maybe the gain will make him look not so tiny and edible lol. Sams cricket keeper is right next to Frodos terrarium and Iv seen Frodo jump at the glass (not recently). And they watch each other... it makes me nervous. but the picure helps I can compare there sizes and see how close Sam is to Frodo.
I just want to point out that I brought this up as my 1.25" and 2" frogs may be different than anyone elses 1.25" and 2" frogs due to how we are doing our measurements. I based my recommendation to keep Sam and Frodo apart based on how my dudes look next to each other. Sam and Frodo could be closer in size like Amy's dudes. Also, I think it would be tragic if Frodo ate Sam, though Sam probably wouldn't mind if it meant Mr Frodo could carry on to Mount Doom (I wonder if Sam had a recipe for Poached Sam).
