HelloI apologize for this long post; I am completely lost as to what I should do. I'm not even sure if what I assumed to be tads are even tadpoles anymore!
Last Friday on the 22nd my ADFs laid eggs. It was odd because I did not hear my male (whom I'm assuming is Kappa) sing, nor did I see him hug any of my two females, Queenie and Yumi. I did not feed them for two days (I'll admit, I over feed them sometimes and they were on a diet cuz they were getting too fat) so I'm assuming they mated during that time. But I periodically checked on them and never saw any mating behavior. But when I took the lid off their aquarium on Friday to feed them, I realized there were a couple clutches of brown eggs attached to a plant. My trio was in a 3 gal and I was upgrading them to a 10gal (just in time lol) later on that day and since I couldn't see all the eggs, I just moved my frogs into the 10gal and left their plants and gravel in the 3 gal cuz I was scared I was going to kill the eggs..So they hatched the next morning and I read online that tadpoles eat infusoria or boiled lettuce. So I started making some infusoria and I boiled some lettuce and threw it in there. The site also said that in a couple days they would be needing to eat baby brine shrimp so I bought some at a pet store. So its now a week later, and I'm not even sure if what I thought were tadpoles are even tadpoles. They still looked like dots to me, and I wasn't sure if they were eating cuz they were in a 3gal with plants and gravel and such and I could hardly see them. So I decided to try to move them into sumthin a little bit smaller and empty. Well after about two hours, I finished moving some of them. And I realized that they don't even look like tads to me. They look like they did from day 1, just a bit bigger and I don't see a tail. I still have them on infusoria and lettuce, and they are eating it cuz I see them eating it now. They look like snails to me, I even saw a tiny spot on one of them. They don't really swim either, I'll occasionally see one of the bigger ones swimming, but for the most part they just stay stuck to the glass. They even move like snails; when they want to move they slide across the glass, they don't swim. My trio does share their tank with a baby snail whom I named Flip, cuz he somehow always manages to flip himself over. But up until about two or three days ago, he was the only snail in their aquarium and I read that snails reproduce sexually. The eggs did look like frog eggs, they were white and brown and covered in jelly. A couple days after they hatched, Yumi laid a bunch of eggs (none were fertilized) and later on that day, I was holding Queenie and I was rubbing her back and she farted a whole bunch of eggs onto my hand. But theses guys just do not look like tads to me. I dunno if these are just slow growers, or if I'm doing sumthin wrong or if these are somehow baby snails. None have died yet, so I guess thats a plus. I can try to take pics tomorrow, my camera has issues with focusing on tiny things but I'll try. Soo I guess my question is, if these are tadpoles what do I feed them? Am I doing something wrong or what, I'm so confused lol
I'm sorry you didn't get a response sooner. Can you post a photograph or 2 please?
