Really the only reason I don't breed my own crickets besides the smell and upkeep is the fact that the adults make constant cricket noise. Heaven forbid if one escapes. Nothing like tearing apart your room at 2 o'clock in the morning trying to find the chirping cricket. Almost got all of my frogs booted out of the house because of that one.

i need to start breeding SOMETHING. My mom went to petsmart to buy me some crickets, and spent $20 on 200 crickets. Maybe they will have a cricket breeder on craigslist

You can order crickets on- line or get them at shows for $20 for 1000. I get 1000 pinheads. When they are small they are fed to my larger darts. As they get bigger they are fed to my tree frogs and firebellies. Depending on how many frogs you have they can last a long time. I order about once a month.

i just got 110 crickets for $5 at the last repticon expo, and those lasted about 1-1/2 weeks, feeding my baby red eye tree frogs.
