White mold?

So I have a piece of driftwood in Grif's home and its made of that grapewood which is supposed to be highly resistant to rot. Yesterday evening when I got home I noticed some white mold on the driftwood. Now I do have Venus flytraps which get white mold on the insect carcases that are left behind an it supposedly only lives off of dead tissue. If its the same mold then maybe it isn't actually harmfull to the frog but I don't want it in there. Does anyone else have this problem with their driftwood?

As the tank cycles you may get mold and it should go away on its own. My monkey pods mold up when first added to a viv but in a few weeks the mold just disappears. This is a pretty common thing for a pretty new tank. If its been operational for some time then try misting with distilled water.

I just noticed I had some fuzzy mold in my gecko's tank today on his droppings which has never happened before, I think its because I put a lot of moss in there. I use distilled for his tank too. I used to have a piece of grapewood in my hermit crabs tank and it started to grow mold almost immediately so I quit using it. I don't think that type of wood is very good in humid tanks, imo.

I have fluffy white mold appearing on drift wood and a branch I wipe it away but the next day it comes back and I've noticed it's growing next to the wood on the substrate.

Like I said, just mist it over with some distilled water and slowly it will go away. Mold is a normal thing for wood to do and will eventually go away.

Now if it get out of control and starting to cover everything then thats another story.
