Ok so i have read tons of stuff on the red eye tree frog and was just wondering what is the ideal humidity to keep them at. some things i read r saying 30 to 50% some r saying higher like 65 to 75%. what do you all recomend. my terrarium is staying at an even 70 to 75% would this be ok to go with
You want to know something? I never check the humidity levels on any of my treefrogs, including red-eyes. I just mist them down before going to bed.
even with the clowns?
Yes, even with the clowns.
I use small stick on hygrometers only because my home computer network and servers are also in the critter room. I keep it dry in there. I rarely check them though.
Most of my humidity control is done by eye though. As I use live moss in all of my enclosures, it is my "eyeball gauge". Dry moss means it is time to mist. Long, well growing moss means it is high humidity. Lush, green moss means perfect humidity.
I keep mostly temperate species. For my tropicals, I mist daily. For my temperates, I use the "moss method" as described above.
Watching FrogTV because it is better when someone else has to maintain the enclosure!
