Talking My white's tree frog escaped):

So I was in the process of upgrading my white's to a larger tank and the tank is BEAUTIFUL!! It has a log, waterfall(without deep water), 2 large climbing logs, plants that hang on the wall, and coco husk substrate. Also, it's a 35 gallon hex. Well, the tank was originally for aquarium fish, but I thought it would look really pretty for a tree frog tank. The only problem was that the tank lid wasn't vented because it had fish, so I had a make-shift lid that seemed to cover every crevice. I moved in my two white's(Kisses & Sprite) and they were hopping all around, investigating and what not so I thought I would leave them alone for a bit. i checked on them before I went to bed and all was well. I woke up to check on them and Kisses was NO WHERE to be found
Well, of course i was upset and tore up the indoor deck that they were living in trying to find Kisses, but to no avail I couldn't find him. Any idea to of where he could be hiding???? For example, any specific places that White's like to hide? Luckily, the weather here is humid so I'm hoping Kisses will be ok. Also, I'm hoping that by night if I don't find him that I will hear him croaking. Thanks for any help at all!!!

Leave some dishes of dechlorinated water around the house, he might turn up in one after his taste of freedom leaves him thirsty.

Two of mine escaped on night and they traveled the whole house, tracking the trail of dust bunnies they left behind as they traveled under every piece of furnature in the house.

One was under my TV stand covered in dust and came out when he heard me in the morning. The other came out and strated croaking to the sound of the stereo (we put on rainforest sounds) but mine do croak to regualr music.

Check under couches and chairs and also up high in the room on picture frames or any high ledges.

    Good luck.

Your hex cover wasnt vented at all? Not even for filter systems? I have a hex tank aquarium lid (same deal as you, 35 gal hex) The tank lid had a removable part in the back to fit the filter system in though. I covered that part with screen and that is my tank vent. I also have a laptop cooler fan that I put on the top if the humidity gets up a bit too much (first week that I had the tank set up with no frogs in it, humidity was hitting 90%)

When you find your frog, which I REALLY hope you do, I'd put them back in their old enclosure until you can get a cover situation figured out.

    Good luck!!
