If this is a general question and not looking for a specific frog, it is possible.
But to thrive you provide more space to allow climbing/exercise, hunting of food, and reduce the stress of captivity.

If your looking for a frog to fill a tank you have, then I don't have one to suggest.

i'm only asking this because i have a 5gal tank that have fish in, but i'm trying to get rid of them, so i can use the tank for something else. What about a pacman? since they need more floor space. Or do they get too big?

Come to think of it, you can actually keep the fish and get 2 or 3 African Dwarf frogs.

In that case, do what I suggested before-get 2 frogs for a 10 gallon tank instead. Is there a specific kind of frog you're considering?

well, i already have two red eyes, and i want a dumpy, but i know they need at least a 20gal. I also want a pacman frog

Pacmans need a 10 gallon tank. They'd be cramped as adults in a 5 gallon.
