New cool idea

I've got a neat new idea for a community setup-I've got an old 55 gallon fish tank lying around, and I was thinking about a group of 3 to 5 large treefrogs. I was also thinking about a shallow pool in the bottom of the tank, maybe about 3 inches deep, filled with a couple of small fish and possibly a few African dwarf frogs. The pool will also have plenty of vines and rocks so the treefrogs can get out of the water easily. Would such a setup even work without casualties? If so, what kinds of fish and treefrogs can I use?

If you did decide to do this set up i would recomend whites tree frogs they do well with other whites and get about 5-6 inches
For the water that should be fine as long as treefrogs can get out
I would not recomend african dwarf frogs but maybe some guppies instead

So are you thinking I should stick with a treefrog-only setup? I was thinking about a group of 3 to 5 white lipped treefrogs. What kind of heating and lighting would a 55 gallon setup require? Should I buy or make a reptile lid to fit the 55?

You can mix treefrogs with fish. I do. What you will need is a half full aquarium with drift woood or other similar object poking out of the water for the frog to rest on. Pick a species of treefrog that will eat the moment food is presented. White's, gray, green, and barking treefrogs are all good candidates, as they will need to be fed outside of the enclosure. Red-eyes are the last frog you should pick for this type of set up.
Fish don't matter as much, as long as they are not big enough to harm the frog or are a small surface dwelling type of fish such as hatchetfish. Don't mix anymore amphibian species in the enclosure either.

I'm rethinking the fish idea-it seems like more trouble than it's worth, and I also don't want to reduce the amount of usable space for the frogs. How many white-lipped treefrogs can live comfortably in a 55? I also know that white-lips get BIG, so what kinds of plants could I use? Also, how do you sex white lipped treefrogs? I'm thinking about 1 or 2 males and 2 or 3 females-I'm not going to get more than 5 frogs.
