Since I changed a few things in my frog's cage (mainly added more substrate and upped the temperature from 78 to 80-82 degrees) my frog became a monster eating almost every night. He skipped his crickets last night and the night before last but for almost a week he's been eating between 1 and 2 crickets a night (I toss in 3 or 4 a night and then let him do the rest of the work). The crickets have been dusted so he'll get his vitamins and are being fed good things like potatoes, sweet potatoes, apples and watermellon. Humidity-wise though I have been worried a little bit (mostly because the last 2 nights he seems to be getting in the "shedding mode"). I do plan on getting a humidity gauge next month but in the meantime I switched tops from the screened in one to the old one that I used earlier this year as the top for my incubator that has aluminum foil on top (hope that works to keep the humidity in, I did punch a few holes in the top so the frog can have some air). Other than that Octavian has been faring pretty well, here's a recent pic of him:
Great news!!! Thanks for updating
2.0.3 Hyla versicolor "Eastern Gray Tree Frogs"
2.2.0 Agalychnis callidryas "Red Eyed Tree Frogs"
0.0.3 Dendrobates auratus "Turquoise and Bronze"
0.0.1 Anaxyrus fowleri "Fowler's Toad"
This makes me believe temp is why my little frog isn't eating. How are you heating him? I have a small heat mat on the side plus a 25w blue bulb on top. I get about 80 maybe 81 degrees.
I don't use any type of heat source on my frog, I just put his cage beside one of my Leopard Gecko cages (which at first had a red heat light but switched to a white light) and ever since the temperature has stayed at 80-82 degrees falling to 78 at night when I turn the light off.
