I have a juvenile male gray tree frog. He chirps very randomly throughout the day or night. It's kind of fun when he chirps during the day because then we get to see his throat all puffed out.

I have to agree =) Frodo our Grey tree frog loves chirping day or night... Trying to get a picture of them chirping with there chin flub all puffed out is funStill trying to get a good pic myself lol
I find he chirps the most after I mist or he baths and is waiting on food...
My 2 year old crying also seems to get him chirping lol.
I haven't managed to get a picture either, Rae. Every time I manage to get the camera out and back to the tank, he's done.

Frogger our whites croaks mostly at night but on feeding days he will stay awake and croak at me to remind me it is his feeding day.
This is the only semi decent picture I have of Frodo and his puffed out chin flub while calling...![]()
That looks cool.
During my fake rainy season I'll get a random daytime chirp every now and then from one of my boys. Maybe he's just your only boy and he's letting the girls know a stud lives next door.I think that's my boy's way of saying there's going to be action tonight.

Keep the camera by the tank, ready to go and especially be ready whenever you mist the tank. Also be sure not to mist the part of the glass you are planning to take the picture though. I'm lucky that Waldo is a very bold caller and generally does it for a few minutes at a time, even with a cat eyeing him with a hungry look.
The puffed up vocal sacs are pretty cute![]()
Thanks Brian!! I will try that. Last night I tried playing some tree frog calls for him to respond to, nothing!! He is just stubborn lol

Even though my theloderma asperum are for the most part nocturnal all i need to do it turn on the missing system for a min or so and they go right to calling. Normally lasts about ten to fifteen Minuets but i do it every now and then when someone asks what they sound like and i am never let down.
Such awesome frogs
Wow I'm so glad I got a bunch of responses!
I wish I could get a picture or video of my little guy calling, I only got a sound clip because he's so good at hiding. Paul never responds when I mist the tank or when I try to play croaks or do it with my own voice, it's so random! He'll usually go off when I've got music playing, or a video game. The funniest thing is when I have friends over and we're all hanging out in my room, sometimes we get a little rowdy and we'll start to yell and laugh really loud, Paul will start croaking to drown out the sound! Either he's yelling at us to shut our traps or he wants to join in the party. XD;
@ Cheri: I cannot WAIT to get him into the big tank with the others and see how they all act together. Bruce Campbell (who I'm pretty sure if female now) has responded to his call once when they were both awake in the late afternoon...hopefully we'll get more action once they're all in the same tank together.
Thanks for all your responses guys! I really like reading your stories.![]()
