Default What kind of tree frog croaks in the day?

My newest and youngest White's, Paul Newman (blue eyed) has a strange habit of croaking randomly during the daytime. I have searched around a little bit and can't find any documentation of other people's frogs doing this. I find it a bit strange, mostly because he'll croak three or four times during one day but he'll never croak at night! And I know he's awake at night because I've seen him prowling around hunting for crickets.

Also I've noticed that he's slightly more skittish than my other two Whites. He is the youngest and a different morph so maybe that's why he seems a little odd. I can't wait to get them all together in the same tank and see how they act.

Any other members have weird stories about their frogs? Any unusual activity?

I can't wait until we update the software and I get my own blog, that way I won't have to fill the forums with personal things like this. XD But I thought it would be fun to share our frogs weird traits, if anyone has any stories, please feel free!

I have a juvenile male gray tree frog. He chirps very randomly throughout the day or night. It's kind of fun when he chirps during the day because then we get to see his throat all puffed out.

I have to agree =) Frodo our Grey tree frog loves chirping day or night... Trying to get a picture of them chirping with there chin flub all puffed out is fun Still trying to get a good pic myself lol

I find he chirps the most after I mist or he baths and is waiting on food...
My 2 year old crying also seems to get him chirping lol.

I haven't managed to get a picture either, Rae. Every time I manage to get the camera out and back to the tank, he's done.

Frogger our whites croaks mostly at night but on feeding days he will stay awake and croak at me to remind me it is his feeding day.

This is the only semi decent picture I have of Frodo and his puffed out chin flub while calling...

Keep the camera by the tank, ready to go and especially be ready whenever you mist the tank. Also be sure not to mist the part of the glass you are planning to take the picture though. I'm lucky that Waldo is a very bold caller and generally does it for a few minutes at a time, even with a cat eyeing him with a hungry look.
