    Default Whites excape/ wait not really

    This morning I went to check on my daughters whites tree frog in his new tank and I couldnt find him anywhere. I took everything out and moved everything and he wasnt there. After looking all day and pretty much thinking he was gone and the cat had ate him, I sent my daughter to watch the moss I had put infront of his cage to tempt him out of hiding.

    She said Mommy I found him. I said where and she said in his cage. There was no way he could get back in the cage so he had to have been in there the whole time. It was a hard day.

    LOL Nice, usually if I cant find one of the frogs, I just leave them for a bit, eventually they pop out. Or I tell the kids to look around the tank and tell me when they spot them. When I moved them to the new viv, the littlest male hid sooo well. There was one time I tore apart the tank to find him. Then I had to try to put the tank back together with 4 tree frogs in there. So now I try to be patient.

    He disappeared again this morning. I think he has a good hiding spot. But where ever it is we never found it yesterday. And we took everything out. We check off and on all day. He didnt come out till night time. Maybe he just likes sleeping in this one better. Half the time in his 18 gallon he was awake each morning.

    I was so lucky to find a 64 gallon on craigslist for $10. The only thing wrong with it is at one of the corners at the very top 2 or 3 inches from the top of the tank. Plus it is really tall and really long though not so deep from front to back, but we are putting a tree frog in it so it is good.

    Tree frogs are good at hiding when they want to! I have 2 that wont come out even when I toss crickets in unless it is their normal evening wake up time

    Now that we have a big enough tank I am figuring this out. I thought we would get to see him all day. But he doesnt wake up till about 6 in the evening. I wonder if getting him a friend will help that. But we are doing that later. Probably in December for my daughters birthday.

    That's so funny. XD He just mist be a hiding expert.

    Two of my White's don't care if I see them or not. They just sleep wherever it comfortable for them, which is usually right out in the open. My other little boy though, he hides like a pro. Maybe it's because he's smaller and in a larger tank but half the time I can't find him even if I look. XD;

    It's always best to be optimistic.
