I just got a pair of Matecho on Sunday. So I had to set up a viv for them quickly so here's what I got. Yes, a bunch of Lowes plants I'm sure you recognize them.I really like the piece of wood in the middle there. I did a little bit of a hillside. The background is concrete with foam ledges all the way up. I didn't really like how the background turned out so I pretty much covered it up as you can see. I looks like concrete...well probably becuase it is.
I was working on it off and on for about three months. I honestly just got bored with it..and then finally said, "I'm done".
Anyway, the frogs are 14 months old. They don't have the full yellow backs, but as I've said I'm not really that picky when it comes to frogs. They are very bold and bouncy. They can jump a lot higher than my Cobalts. I figured they'd be just the same as the Cobalts but they are unique. They have higher leaps or hops if you will. My Cobalts have these short little hops as they move around but these guys are more spring loaded. They do eat just as much as the Cobalts though and are always begging for food. Tank setup minus the background was under two hours. That included setting up the misting nozzle. Right now I only have one nozzle in the tank but there will be two as soon as I can get around to picking up another head. The tank is a 18X18X24 Exo Terra. I picked it up on CraigsList for $30 bucks. It had a lot of hard water deposits but I was able to clean it all off. Thats all folks. I'll get some close ups of the frogs soon.
