I have a dome light fixture on top of my pac's tank with a 40watt dayblue light bulb. I don't have any problems maintaining temp. but the humidity seems to drop pretty quickly even with several daily mistings. I'm thinking maybe the light is "baking" all the moisture out of the tank. Is this the appropriate type of bulb to be using?
I'm not sure about what types of light that pacs need, I have a 50 watt blue daylight bulb on my tree frog tank though. When one was in the horizontal viv with a screen top, the humidity was always crashing. I took some glad press and seal and put it over the top of the screen, leaving an 1 inch opening around the light bulb. Solved my humidity problems.

You should use a fluorescent light bulb, preferably UVB.One like this:

I have found that lights are usually a bad thing when it comes to pacs. they are a bad all around heat source. they can damage your frogs eyes, and often over heat the tank. I have all my tanks set up with glass tops so they get plenty of light from the room. I use an under tank heat pad to keep the heat up. i don't know how wet your substrate is, but it needs to be quite wet.(not mud though) the glass top is a great way to regulate the temp and humidity. If its too hot, make the air space a little bigger. Just like cracking the windows in the car. hope I was helpfull, if not, you prolly read it wrong
