    Default Hello!

Hi everyone! I'm looking forward to learning lots here! I'm a fairly new frog enthusiast - I got two Eastern Gray Tree Frog tadpoles a little over two months ago, and they morphed about a month and a half ago.

This past weekend I bought what I was told was a peacock or big-eyed tree frog, but the more research I do, the less I think that is what it is. I've found some photos online for the Leptopelis christyi that look like it, but I'm not positive.

    I look forward to chatting!

Welcome aboard. Most likely the species you have Leptopelis vermiculatus. http://calphotos.berkeley.edu/cgi/im...el-lifeform=ne
Young specimens start out green with tiny black net-like markings and have white patches on the limbs. As they mature they develope chevron markings on their dorsum in hues of brown and sometimes green.

Hi Kurt - Thanks for your thoughts. I think I've looked at just about every single picture I could find of any Leptopelis on the internet today, and I think I've narrowed it down to either the Leptopelis flavomaculatus or the Leptopelis christyi. The problem is that the same exact pictures get labeled differently, depending on the website, so I think I'll have to wait til it grows up a bit to absolutely ID it.

Welcome to the site McLaura. I'm a big fan of Gray Tree Frogs . If you could take a photo of your other frog I bet we could ID it.

Like I said in the other thread, I hit the books and 100% positively identified it as Leptopelis flavomaculatus.

Welcome to the forum McLaura. Not sure what your frog is but it's very cute. There's plenty of experts on this forum who can help you.

Its quite ok. I made an ID of Leptopelis vermiculatus before seeing the photo in the other thread. There I was able to positively ID is as Leptopelis flavomaculatus.

Welcome. Have you read the grays caresheet on this website?

That care sheet has definitely been my primary source of info on grays. It's come in handy!
