Hey so when I go to work tommrow at the petstore I'am gonna have to make the desicion weather or not I should take my friends whites tree frog or if he should put it for sale, I did my research and all but I still didnt have one question answered, the question in how big do males get and how big do females get,so I read a caresheet here and a book called tree frogs by David Edmonds and both of the authors said that they grow to be 4 inches, never said male or female they just said 4 inches and I know that females got to be bigger then males and my friend told me that it croaks and that its 4 inches, either is a really big male or he's got the inches mixed up or females get bigger then 4 inches I guess.
I don't know much about Whites TF's, as we can't get them here in New Zealand (Although I want one SO MUCH). But from what I've read about them, they can be fed pinkies (baby mice) so they definitely get big, prob up to 10cm, or more.
Although, like I said, I know VERY little about them...so someone with more knowledge could give you a more accurate idea.
yeaa I know it'll be cool to feed it pinkies.
Actually, thats the one thing I wouldn't be able to feed it, if I could get one. I have pet Rats, and just couldn't look them in the eye if I did.
Thing is that its not good to feed them that anyways only as a treat, but Iam use to feeding animals rats since I work in a petstore, get use to it after a while lol
I wrote the article on White's here, but I don't have any more information on size differnces between the genders. Sorry.
Oh, I think you mean Devin Edmonds. He did provide me with some help on my ther articles.
yeaa I did mean Devin lol and I read your article ,thanks it helped alot and so did Devins info and I think the male wont get any bigger the females get to be 6 inches thats what my boss told me.
I would have to hit the books to confirm or deny that. Six does seem a little bit big to me. A quick look at one of Dick Bartlett's books reveals that they can get to 4.5 inches.
