Good toad food

Captive-bred and raised isopods are a terrific food for toads. They are very high is calcium and I highly recommend them. I raise them is a large tupperware container, with a few holes in the lid - to keep humidity high. I use course coco-bark as the substrate - a few inches deep, and feed them sweet potato slices (or other veggies) and Rapashy Insect gutload or similar. Keep them in a cool dark closet. They breed quickly under favorable circumstances. I got starter cultures from Carolina Pet Supply, Quality supplies for raising healthy reptiles - nice people...

woodlices are very good food and good janitors
chitin isnt a problem, amphibians are made to digest it, they might even convert all that into proteins

i also find that most toads like smaller preys... nothing like pdf but they wont go for big stuffs like treefrogs or frogs would
