 Pacman Care! Help!!!!!!!!
 Pacman Care! Help!!!!!!!!
				Hey Guys,
I am new to the frog world. I am picking up a 1 year old Albino Female Pacman on Sunday. I need some help with care. I know the following:
They need to be in at least a 10 Gallon tank or a 16qt tub.
Temp needs to be 80
I can add Sphahmun moss (Not sure why can someone tell me)
Thats about it. I was not expecting to get one but it was included in a trade so I said what the heck I'll do it!
Okay I know they need to eat crickets, worms, mice, fish etc. But how much do I feed everyday? Do I give a mouse once a week or once a month? I know I sound dumb but I have always wanted to get into frogs and liked them so I guess this is my chance. Can you guys please tell me everything I need to know!
Daniel

Also is it true that Pacmans can have between 1000 to 2000 babies? I heard this off a site. If not how many can they have?

Anyways people put moss in tanks to keep the humidity up. It does help, but frequent misting is just as good.
As far as food it all depends on the size of the Pacman, but since it's a year its probably good size. Mice would be used as treat, and I wouldn't feed them mice too often. They are high in fat. Superworms, earthworms, and large crickets make a good diet. Also roaches as well. Make sure you are gut-loading and using a dust to put on the food.
The temp should be between 75-85 degrees. And the humidity should be fairly high, but not enough to cause condensation on the glass. You'll need a good size water dish for her to soak in.

Wrong, mice are lacking in good nutritional value. Always gut load.

You should dust the food regularly, no matter what it is. There is no harm in it. Personally I wouldn't feed mice that frequently.

What kind of supplements should I buy for the crickets and the dusting stuff to put on them?

 Re: Pacman Care! Help!!!!!!!!
For dusting you want a vitamin/mineral supplement and a separate calcium supplement. You can mix these at dusting time, though don't store them mixed.

				What company does everyone use?

Moss is added to keep humidity up. But there is a high risk of impaction when using moss. I avoid it.
Your frog's diet should be composed primarily of things like crickets, roaches, and earth worms. Rodents can be fed as a treat occasionally (no more than twice a month). As for dusting, it is possible to over-supplement your frog. Dust once to twice a week max. If you gut-load the insects with nutritious foods high in calcium (which is best), just dust once a week.

Tom - I go with which ever is cheapest that I've heard of. I prefer to gutload though, and I only dust when it's a frozen mouse or an earthworm.

				ooh ok thanks

Be careful when dusting earth worms. Don't just stick the whole worm in powder or it will collect too much dust due to their sticking coating.

How do you do it then?

There actually IS A RISK of overdose. Without looking at scientific reasoning, just think about this...would you take 15 multivitamins in one day when the recommended dose is 1? Probably not.
Although lethal levels are very high of some vitamins and minerals, it is still possible. Over supplementing your frog can be just as harmful as under-supplementation.

And to dust worms, I just place a small dose on a feeding dish and rub the worms in it. This allows me to control the amount of powder I want to use rather than just sticking the whole thing in powder and collecting too much.

That is because of the threat of an iron over dose.
