    Default Itty Bitty white bugs

This morning, when I was doing my rounds, checking on the froggies, I noticed some itty bitty tiny little white bugs in the substrate by the glass in Paddy's tank. I mean, so tiny I could barely see what they were.

What could that be?? Mites? I have a lot of live plants in there (and now live worms!) Is it something that would hurt my frog of my viv?

I could move her to the new viv if it is something bad, but I moved a bunch of her plants to the new viv too, likely transporting whatever this is.

Sounds like springtails, they are harmless and will help to break down wastes in the tank.

How did they occur naturally in my tank?? Not that I'm complaining if that's what they are! I was going to buy some LOL

They probably came in on your plants and/or substrate.

Awesome, works for me! I just looked at a picture of sprintails (one of those close up drawings) and that's definitely what they are. Yay me! Now I don't have to buy them and pay the shipping LOL

Also...are they going to grow bigger? I've heard some frogs will eat them, but these things are too small for even my smallest frog!
