    Default Hello

Hello, I joined this forum earlier today while browsing for information on my new pacific chorus frog frog-lets that have grown from tadpoles that i collected several weeks ago. i now have 9 frogs, and a few tadpoles left. I am planning to reduce the numbers though as i only have a 10 gallon tank, so i will be keeping 4-5 frogs, and will be giving the rest away/releasing some in there original creek. i have 2 named so far, and i am relatively sure which ones those are, with Niel Armstrong(the first tadpole to grow arms), and Jane Goodall, as that one likes to sit quietly watching the others, this turned into an idea of naming them after important historical figures of interest, so if any one has a good suggestion for a few more names that fit the bill, some suggestions would be great!( they are not chirping yet, so i don't know the genders, but that hasn't restricted names so far.)
Also, i am extremely interested in finding an albino tadpole from a pacific chorus frog, so if anyone knows a pond in Marin County California that is known to have them please let me know!

    Hi Salanin,

Welcome to the Forum! Great idea for how to name your frogs. I live in California as well, and have 12 Pacific Chorus frogs. I have never seen an albino one myself. Pacific Chorus frogs are very social and entertaining, you will really enjoy them!

Yeah, i have not seen any albino in the stream where i got my tadpoles yet, and i have made a few visits back esp since our recent unexpected rain. Still though i have not seen any. But I do remember finding albino ones from a specific pond in Mill Valley(town near where i live), but that was when i was a kid in middle school, but i haven't been able to find that exact pond yet, and i hold little hope of finding more albinos in it this many years later, but i might try driving around and looking for it again in the morning, as i remember they (albino PCF) were fairly common at this spot, i just can't remember exactly where it was. maybe with some crazy luck the gene is still active in the frog community of that pond, and then with some more luck, i might actually find the pond(i have a very rough idea of where it might be). If i find it, and any Albinos i will be sure to post more information.
