Find a moist place in your yard or garden in the shade, put an egg crate (the 18 egg flat works well) on the damp ground and then a piece of plywood over that. The plywood protects the egg crate from drying out or getting blown away. You don't have to get the egg crate wet, it will absorb enough moisture from the damp ground without being soggy. The sowbugs will collect under the egg crate like crickets do, and you can then tap them into a tub to feed your toads. I discovered this quite by accident when I left a bit of egg crate on the ground near my toad tub in the front garden after feeding my toads some crickets. When I picked it up it was full of sowbugs underneath.
Or have a daughter who thinks sowbugs are the coolest things ever... LOL
Good idea though, I don't feed them to my frogs, but great tip for those who do.
