It's called a release call. Females use it to tell other frogs that they don't want to be touched right now.

Very interesting, thank you. I think the weather fluctuations (the last few weeks have been between 36 and 90 degrees!) have made my frogs all sort of cranky lately, Paddy was trying to escape, Silvermist was chirping at me, Willow has never been fond of me, but she is extra unfond of me the last few days. Only Leggy seems to be unaffected by what's going on, but he's busy hitting puberty!
