    Unhappy Help!FBT is sick!

One of my FBTs is extremely bloated and his eyes look all droopy and bad.
I read somewhere about making the water warmer so I put him in a small cage and made the water a bit warmer but what do I do now??
I don't want him to die

Is his belly lumpy? Could he be impacted? Are his eyes foggy at all? That would indicate an infection, bacterial or fungal, I can't remember which. Is he eating?

I'm sorry, I hope you get the help you need and he gets better soon

No his belly just looks and feels like a big balloon and his eyes just look really tired.
I know he ate a few small crickets the other day but its hard to keep track with 4 frogs jumping all around the cage eating them and he just started getting big like yesterday morning and now he looks like hes going to pop.

I read some other place about a girl taking her fire bellied toad to a vet with the same symptoms as mine and she said to inject baytril into him and soak him in..

    0.2g NaHCO3

I wouldn't inject anything into a sick froggie without it seeing a vet just in case.

I wouldn't either. It still sounds like impaction to me. Otherwise it could be fungal, parasitic or bacterial infections. Whatever it is, all of those things take different medications and should be monitored by a vet. Have you tried feeding him yet? If he is refusing to eat, I would definitely get him looked at by a vet. How is his color?

On a side note, even when you have 4 frogs, it is best to watch what they are eating so that when stuff like this happens you have a better idea of what is going on. I think it is very important to keep careful watch on their feeding habits, that way you can see if they accidentally ingest something they shouldn't (like a stone or moss or something) I have 3 frogs in one tank and 1 in the other right now, in the tank with 3 frogs, I take them out individually every other night and feed them separately in a critter keeper so that I can make sure they each get their fair share. Otherwise I put the crickets in the tank and watch them carefully to make sure they're all eating and they don't pick up anything they shouldnt.

Taking him to the vet right now isn't even an option. :/
I don't have any money to take him and no I haven't fed him yet.
I went to the pet store but they said ther out of crickets until tomorrow around noontime so i'll go get them then.

And thanks for the tip about feeding them lilypad.
I've always worried about them not getting enough food so i'm gonna start feeding them separately now.

If he's sick, he should be in a quarantine tank to reduce the chance of your other frogs catching it. This will also ensure he won't get shoved aside at the dinner table.

You could try soaking it in the salt solution - it won't do any harm. However, I think you're firmly in vet territory now .

Photos would help, but he's sounding more and more like he needs a vet.

My sister works at a vet and she said he might be impacted and to make his water warmer.

    He died
But then I went to check on my other 3 frogs and found another one dead as well?
He didn't look bloated or anything though but one of my alive frogs had a tight grip around the dead ones stomach and he wouldn't let go.

That's so sad!! I'm sorry! But if your sister worked at a veterinary hospital could you have not taken it to her? This is an old post but, I just thought I would say something.

sounds that he had a prolaps if you are talking about something white sticking out of its butt ... an impaction (or intestinal parasites) can trigger this sometimes.
sorry to hear that he passed away
