I have been surprised at their climbing tendencies, even in the old tank. They would get up on top of the bark hide pretty often, and one of them thought he was a tree frog for a day and did this:
You had better believe I made sure my screen lid on the new tank fit well, after watching that!
I thought the rocks might be good for feeding as well as just being something different. I reasoned that it would be easier to see tiny bugs on a rock, and easier to eat them there without getting a mouthful of substrate. This will probably matter less when they get larger and can eat crickets etc.
As of this morning, 2 of the 3 toads have buried themselves to the point that I can't find them. I'm just letting them be for the moment, no need to dig them up if they are getting some quality sleep. The other toad hangs around on the big rock a lot. I am not using a lamp, as there are windows on two walls in that room and it seems bright enough to me.
