Common Mudpuppy (Necturus maculosus)

All right thanks for the tip. I don't generally go to the great lakes region, but I have caught them in the western Mohawk river before. I've tried the last few years with no luck. I'll keep trying, and consider the drive out to the great lakes if I need too. I just wouldn't know where to start looking, and since I plan on keeping it, I would like to either hand catch it or use a net. I don't like the idea of using a hook for an animal I want to keep.

I am on kingsnake frequently, so I'll keep an eye out there as well.

Oh wow, just checked kingsnake and there are some up right now!

If its not too much trouble, could somebody take a look and see if these are the right guys? I've never personally seen one under about 8 inches.

I emailed him already, I hope to have a couple within a few days. My tanks already up and cycled, so I just gotta hear back from him and pay the man.

BTW I've only been here for a few days, and you run a great site. I'm on a few others, but this and caudata are probably the best 2 I've used.
