Default May Possibly Be Getting Darts

    Hello everyone,

I have wanted to get some some DIURNAL dart frogs (have kept many tree frogs who are asleep most of the time lol) for quite some time now. I have decided on a couple (depending of price how many) of leucomelas. I was thinking of setting them up in my 29g tank. Any thoughts or advice or ideas on setup would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a link to a ton of images that Don Lisks took of his 20 gallon long build for his Dendrobates Leucomelas. I think you will enjoy them as well as getting plenty of ideas for yourself. There is a link to the actual build around here somewhere. I just couldn't find it.

I may or may not know what I'm talking about!

They are mostly terrestrial but if you tier your background with ledges and slopes they will utilize the space. Of course you will need to keep the humidity high which means closing off. The tank to keep humidity in. They like leaf litter on the ground and many plants to hide in but leave room up front where they can walk around. Mine like to sit on top of the coco hut. They are a very good choice for a first dart. You are going to have to learn how to culture fruit flies.

i think ill prolly do a foam background to make ledges n put broms in there and ive done some research on the fruit flies and it doesnt sound too bad (if it is my nearby reptile shop sells them)
is magnolia leaf litter the best? or live oak?
also the is about 3/4 covered with a glass top should I cover the screen with saran wrap?
