So, I placed an orange cube in with Lump to keep the couple of crickets in his tank from nibbling on him overnight, and now the cube is gone. I don't think the crickets could have devoured the entire cube, so I'm assuming Lump missed a cricket who was eating, and got the cube itself. I'm hoping that since it's basically just vegetable matter and protein, Lump will be able to digest it and just poop it out, but is there anything I should do to help him out?
Yikes!!! My guess, is that since that is what is in all the cricket's stomachs that he eats, it should be okay except for maybe some diarrhea? I'm not sure!! Good luck though!!

The cubes are pretty squishy and soft, and frogs can digest things like mouse bones, so I'm thinking he won't get impacted. Lump is completely buried in his substrate, like he usually does after a big meal, so we'll see how it goes. I think I'm going to chop cricket food into little bitty bits before I stick it in his tank from now on.
That's probably a good idea, or just stick some fish food crunchies in there, the crickets will go after that too and that shouldn't hurt him.

Should be fine, my advice would be to monitor him/her closely and react accordingly. Good luck, hope the situation turns out alright.
He'll probably be fine. I'd just keep a close eye on him for awhile, but I don't think there's anything to worry about. Hm.. I've heard of people also using oatmeal flakes for the crickets.
Thats nothing! I had a my riding team over at my house for this big KTM Enduro event that I had going, and one idiot threw a big, still hot, chicken strip into my 7" female cranwelli pac's tank! Needles to say, she choked it down before I new what had happened. She was fat for a couple of weeks and didn't want to move til it passed.
I would have been really upset if someone did that to my frog.
Anyhow, he seems to be doing OK so far. He was calling a few hours ago, and has mostly unburied himself, so I'm just waiting for him to have orange poop.
The only thing I would suggest is not keeping live crickets in with the frog. For me part of the fun in keeping frogs is feeding and watching them eat
The crickets are usually gone by morning if I throw in 2-3 extra after he seems done eating. I worry about him not getting enough to eat since he's still growing.
He pooped last night, but I didn't see any signs of the orange cube, just cricket bits. I wonder how long it takes for a typical meal to pass through a frog...
Don't fret, there's no danger.

How long did it take your frog to pass the orange cube? My white's tree frog ate an orange cube earlier tonight. I accidentally dumped it into his cage along with some crickets and he ate it before I could pick it up!
I've read that they can't. Digest vegetable matter but I'm not sure about fruit. I've used those cubes and they are very sof. Hell probably squish it up while shifting his belly around to move ingested food. I think you're frog is safe from it doing any harm. Learn from mistakes. We all do.
