My son won a tadpole at the fair this weekend. We are not sure what kind it is or how to take care of it. Can anyone help us?

That -might- be an African clawed frog tadpole. Post this photo in that forum and ask there.

It looks like a bullfrog tadpole to me. I've been catching bunches of those for an amphibian presentation that I'm involved with tomorrow. If it is, they'll eat anything that will fit in their mouth!

I agree that it is most likely a bullfrog. If you live within their native range and may do so legally then releasing it after metamorphosis is likely to be your best option. They do not make the best indoor captives because they are so large and nervous. If you do decide to keep it plan on a long term home that is at least six feet long and two feet wide, in a smaller cage they will often kill themselves by hitting the glass during a jump, and they will usually jump at the slightest disturbance.

also if you do not want to keep it you may also see if any nearby petstores will take it or maybe trade for a, much easier to care for, goldfish
