Frogs mating. They mated all spring, but have made a return visit to go another round! This year I have covered the pool with a tarp to keep out the dust and debris, but where the pool ladder lifts the tarp the frogs have easy access. When we pull back the tarp to get in the pool the frogs just sit on the ladder being quite used to us. The tarp gives them added cover, unlike previous years when they would quit breeding in the pool by May.
Tadpole tub. When I clean the pool in the spring and put fresh water I first salvage as many tadpoles as possible and put them in a tub to finish growing. I feed them an amphibian pellet stuff and also put a mosquito cake in their tub to prevent mosquitoes. The tads like to eat that, too, but it is harmless to them.
Tadpoles.
Our pool; the frogs love this in spite of the people and the chlorine, etc!
