The world of frogs is quite addicting. I started with two firebelly toads. And now, well, you can see my signature, lol. They are such charming little guys, its hard not to fall in love.
Grats on your new friend!![]()
Hi everyone.
I was sitting in my living room doing some work to get caught up at work late at night when I caught some movement out of the corner of my eye. Thinking it was a giant wolf spider I immediately grabbed an empty cup from the coffee table and moved closer to investigate.
As I got near I saw a huge pile of cat hair moving with a tiny frog stuck inside. I immediately put a jar over it (before a cat found it) and ran to the kitchen setting up a bowl with some water and a plate to get out of the water with another plate to cover the bowl and went back to investigate the frog. The poor little girl was all tangled in hair and I spent about 20 minutes meticulously picking off all I could without hurting her and set her in the bowl caught a few little moths for her and went to bed. (it was late)
After a few days living in the bowl and eating only caught insects she started looking better and I figured I'd better start researching what she was and how to take care of her. I found many sites and information but after finally deciding she is a Pacific Chorus Frog this forum far and away has the best information.
I now have her in better set up that is still in progress and I am just getting ready to add the substrate and moss and get some plants set and get the water changed which has a dead cricket in it and is brown from the sticks. Well I noticed what looks exactly like the egg cluster posted on the care sheet here for the Pacific Chorus Frog! (Which will be another post in a few minutes)
Either way after reading this site and taking care of the little girl I have I think I might be getting slightly addicted frogs and have some plans for a few complex vivariums. I have a strong background in Saltwater fish and worked all through high school at a local pet store where we often sold Pac Man and Green tree frogs so I do have a little frog experience (from 16 years ago!).
So that is my long winded introduction and how I wound up here.
