Default Is he just a terrible hunter?

Hi friends, my younger White's tree frog is having an awful time catching crickets. He jumps for them but always comes up way short. If I leave crickets in his terrarium they never get eaten so I take him out and feed him in a seperate box. When he was a little guy I took him out to feed him and hand fed him some but he never seemed to have trouble catching his own food until now. Could he have a brain injury, is he sick, or is he just a terrible hunter. He goes for the food but doesn't quite get there. He seems to have much less troublw with waxies and meallworms that are more stationary. However I don't want his diet to bee too much of that. Is there a worm that can be fed as a regular diet? Tomato horn worms or something? Nightcrawlers? Or is he just spoiled by hand feeding when he was young? My other Whites eats and catches everything. They are not in the same cagem Any advice is welcome?
    God bless,

    Laura

What about breaking the hoppy legs off the crickets so they cant hop away so quickly? I don't know why he wouldn't be able to catch them, hopefully someone else can chime in there!

Use the cricket bowl feeding method.

Put the crickets in the freezer for 30 seconds or so before dropping them in for feeding. Ideally you will chill them long enough that they stop moving but are still alive- then as they warm up and start moving they are vulnerable to even the most uncoordinated frog. Of my 2 adult Grays, one is an awesome hunter, the other less so. The less awesome one gets chilled crickets dropped in front of her if I've been concerned she hasn't been eating enough.
