She's a he?

Jade, my ummm female white's tree frog was calling tonight. She sounded just like Dumper but it was quieter (like she was talking to herself) and lasted only a couple seconds. Is she a he? the other day I noticed her throat was a little saggy but NOT anywhere near like Dumper's huge bubble. He/she has no nuptial pads and his/her throat is white (dumper's is dark)

Do females croak ever?

So it's a hermaphrodite So I have one very boisterous juvenile male that carries all the traits of an adult male and a large very feminine male that carries no traits of a male except that he/she croaks very quietly?!

I have read in a couple places that females do, but no official statement anywhere.

I have a female Gray Tree Frog who does talk to me occasionally. She'll chirp to me after i spray her and the cage down in the morning, and sometimes after eating or when she's asleep. It's nowhere near what a male will call, it's a little broken chirping lasting only a few seconds. Scared my roommate this morning

So I do think it's possible she is still a she. She isn't going to be as vocal as a male, but mine at least talks to me a few times a week.

Release or warning call perhaps? All of my froggies will occasionally let me know they do not like what is going on.

actually this isn't the first time I've heard sounds from Jade. Last week I heard what sounded like a slight purr sound and tonight we were startled by a loud quack type sound. I checked her/him/it and was on the glass... looked fine, not excited or anything.

Is there a way to check for a release call like you can with toads by touching certain areas of their backs? Would only males make a release call?

edit: I'm adding another call to the list... It's a one off call kind of like a bullfrog call but flatter with less harmonics. I'd have to say with the variety of calls, it's safe to assume Jade is a male. Maybe I have to call him Jake.

It rained today and now it's very humid out.
