For the acclimation process it is best to cover three sides of the tank with black construction paper or some sort of visual barrier. At night when the tank lights go off make sure it is completely dark in the rest of the room. Make sure it is also quiet. Why don't you post a picture of your setup sometimes there are environmental concerns.
