Gravel Issue

I orginally used gravel when I had my three, but after having my female almost choke, I got rid of it rather quickly. After that, I had no substrate, and I found plants that I could weigh down to the bottom so they wouldn't get banged around too much. Very nice looking Xenopus by the way. I really miss mine .

This is confusing. No substrate? How do you separate land from water? How do you create a pond. Gravel mixed with epoxy covered with moss or coconut that comes in a brick has been suggested. Is that good?

What aquatic frog needs land? Not Xenopus or African Dwarf Frogs.

When I had both Xenopus and African Dwarf frogs, they were in a 25 gallon aquarium setup-the first by themselves, and the Dwarf frogs in a community tank setup. No land at all. Xenopus had no gravel or other substrate, and my Dwarfs had natural aquarium gravel. Both of these types of frogs can dry out very quickly if brought out onto land, and they do not move well either. Their little (or not so little) froggie legs are meant to swim, not hop or walk like other species.
