I'll try and get a pict up later or tomorrow.
but anyways, I had made my first melangaster fly culture and didn't put flies in yet..
I get home and their is hundreds of white specs and on the sides and bottom. Its been during on a table for approx 8 hours.
No I didn't spray mite off. I had to RUN or of the house for an appointment I forgot about.
The specs are cylinder shaped.
Could it be the yeast I sprinkled in?
I got the kit from josh's so I'm sure it was operators error.
Yes that is probably what your seeing. I can't see mites infesting your culture that fast.
1.2.0 Dendrobates tinctorius 'Azureus'
1.1.0 Dendrobates Lamasi 'Orange'
1.1.0 Dendrobates Ventrimaculatus 'Understory Line'
0.3.0 Dendrobates leucomelas

As always your mileage may vary!
I may or may not know what I'm talking about!
Garrett, those are not mites. Mites are small and more round. They can invade fast, though, so be warned! Did you get some mites paper? Helpful, they are (today's Yoda's impression brought to you by Mites).
