Hi there Val, Welcome to the forum. We are all crazy here..about frogs that is..
So you have come to the right place for sure
.
You asked to meet me so here goes. I am really crazy. I live on the Kings River in heaven; it is 20 acres 3 acre lake, ¼ mile of river front and a trout stream. Been here forty years. We have at least a million tree frogs (Even living in our house); so what am I doing? I have just started building a natural terrarium for a group of Dart Frogs. I am having a ball and can use all the help I can get.
Thanks for letting me share your Forum

Welcome aboard.
Welcome...what kind of dart frogs are you interested in getting?
How did you guess that would be my first question? Looking for recommendations. Just bought the tank; 36 gal, nice top with all spectrum light and a few basic extras. I want my first frogs to be pretty, can be kept in small groups, and easy to care for and breed. Yes I want it all. Any advice?
My first book is "Poison Dart Frogs" by Amanda and Greg Sihler which I really like. What else would you recommend?
Thanks much
Val
I like the book "Professional breeder series: Poison Frogs" by Schmidt and Henkel. It has a lot of good info. If you want an easy to care for dart that is active and gets along well in groups I would recommend Leucs. They are very outgoing and fun to watch. Cobalts are my favorite darts but they are territorial and would be best as just a breeding pair. Terriblis is another very active frog that does well in groups. One of our moderators Eric has a group of them and he is extremely fond of them, although they can be a bit pricey. That's why I ultimately recommend the Leucs. You can't beat them as a very affordable, active, group frog. They are fun, easy, and hardy. Just my two cents. Let's us know what you decide. I look forward to seeing your tank build.
Thanks so much for you reply. I just got the book yesterday and only had time to drool over the pictures.
