Just wanted to share my experiences from our trip to Black Jungle in Turners Falls MA on July 2nd 2011

Black Jungle is about 3 hours from me, but with traffic on a holiday weekend, the trip ended up being 4 hours each way with a stop for a meal included each way.
We allotted to spend 300 bucks for the day and wow does that go quickly. 50 for gas, 60 for food and drinks really cut into the frog money. Had to treat my wife and granddaughter since they did suffer through a long hot trip with no air conditioning.

When you first arrive you will find in the parking lot some really cool carnivorous plants growing from an eight inch deep bed of sphagnum moss.... pretty cool.

The display tanks they have are very well established and some of the breeding tanks have been in place long enough that its tough to see through the glass. That definitely doesn't take away any of the ah factor as you search through tank after tank for whats hiding inside.

The supplies are abundent and with the added unbelievable green house it becomes tough to choose... frogs or plants. Oh, we chose frogs.

After selecting a pair of Dendrobates truncatus yellow striped, we grabbed up some monkey vines, a new dome lamp fixture with mirror reflector, some leaf liter, and glider fruit flies, there went the frog cash

I like going to Black Jungle and although they didn't have many frogs available today, there was so much to see and plenty you don't want to go home without.
Staff is plenty helpful, knowledgeable, and always makes my 8 hours of road time worth it.

Here is a link to the photos from today and hope you enjoy them.
