African clawed frogg isnt eating floating food?

I have one 4 month old african clawed frog (albino) In a 10 gallon filter tank, Heated,lighted tank. Well Hes getting kinda big for for SM Sinking pellets. So I'm changing his diet to ReptoMin, Cichlid Gold , Red reptomin mix. But problem is he is so use to sinking foods he cant find floating foods! I tried putting a cichlid pellet in front of him and bbrought it up slowly but he took a bite and went down. I tried this about 5 times in 2 days. PLEASE HELP! btw I changed his substrate from sand to gravel because sand clogged my filter 3 times and grew lots of algae

Hi and welcome to Frog Forum!

No need to switch to floating food. I feed my clawed frogs a sinking pelleted food from Xenopus Express (Xenopus Express Products - Xenopus Suppliers). There is also Repto-Min: Frog Sinking Granules that is available at many pet shops.

They will learn eventually but there are plenty of sinking pellets available. Eventually I got mine to handfeed as well things like the occasional waxworm.
I did use pellets as a staple but they also love earthworms (either chopped if big or whole small ones) - they also loved live freshwater shrimps i got from my aqautic shop.

I have 4 ACFs and I only feed them floating food. I use a chopstick to make waves at the surface to get their attention and soon enough they'll look up and come to the surface to snack!
