Whites tree frog hiding in his cage

My daughters whites tree frog has stayed hidden behind his plants and squeezed in behind his water bowl since we took him out for the first time in forever to show the girls grandpa. I think because the girls were so excited to see him out of his cage they were to loud. Should I worry if he was to stressed? I am keeping them away for the rest of the week atleast so he can have some quite time. My oldest who is his mommy usually helps take care of him, because she is only 5 I do most of the work. He has never squeezed down behind his water dish before so I was just wondering what someone with more experience thought.

If you haven't handled her routinely, then she is definitely stressed.
Let her be for a bit, watch to ensure she eats, and she should be fine.

The more she gets used to you doing maintenance in the tank, changing water daily, misting and cleaning glass, the more trusting she will become with you.

Thanks. We have only been handling him for complete clean up of the tank very month. We do daily keep up with him in the tank, changing water, misting, moving vines to check for yucky stuff.

Sometimes frogs hide because there are not enough plants in the tank and he feels exposed or it is too dry in the tank and he's looking for a place more humid. Just make sure you can rule out those possibilities...because those possibilities can lead to a sick frog.,

He has lots of plants, though they are fake they take up most of his tank. I check and recheck and check again his humidity and mist three to four times a day just to be safe. I would hate for him to get sick because exotic pets like frogs are way more expensive to take to the vet. So I am trying to do this right. We are soon moving him to a bigger tank and my husband and I were looking at real plants and misters or a water feature to make it better for him. We bought Frogger for our 5 year old and since she is so young we know it is important we do all the research and get the proper stuff to teach her correctly. I wish I had videoed when she told her sisters preschool class about her frog, but maybe she will take it to kindergarden next year and she will have even more knoweledge. But thanks for saying. I really want any advice, since we have only had him for three months I want all the knoweledge I can get.
