I don't think that these blisters are caused by wounds or anything like that. To answer your question about whether or not my frog died and acted like nothing was wrong, in short, sort of. Here is the thread I started on here when it happened, and as you will see, nobody really knew what it was, and I got little help on here.

I isolated her from her roommate, and put polysporin on her like someone suggested, and she was doing great. Her foot started to heal, it stopped spreading like it had started to, and it wasn't bleeding anymore. My friend that's in vet school had to babysit them for me because I had to go away for a week, and she did a great job because when I came back, everything was virtually healed! About a month later, when I was leaving for class one morning, I checked on her, and she was sitting all pretty on the edge of her water bowl, and by the time I got back home at lunch time, she was gone :C She was my first frog, and when I got her I didn't think that I would be able to get that attached to her, but it still makes me cry when I think about her. Its been about 10 months since she died, and I still haven't been able to get another American Green.
After she died, I completely overhauled both of my tanks. I went out and got new soil, moss, and I even threw out all of the decorations I had and got new ones. I wanted to make sure that none of them got what she had. The American Green (her name was Captina) died in October, and in January, the worst thing happened. Upon checking on my bigger frogs, I saw that my Golden Tree Frog, Bulbasaur, started to get the blisters on her back legs. Here is the thread that I started for that, and it got a lot more feed back:

I was really scared for Bulbasaur because she had problems ever since I bought her. She had this head tilt that several vets couldn't explain, since after she was treated for an ear infection it didn't go away. They all said that it was a neurological disorder, which started to make sense after awhile.

A few weeks before she got the blisters, she had started to have seizures, which were, for me, scary as hell. I hate seeing animals in pain, and it hurt to watch her. Anyway, she got the blisters, and I felt prepared, and I bathed her in water and polysporin everyday, and I still do it once a week to her. The thing is, she still has seizures fairly often still, but she is still eating well. I have no idea if those blisters caused the seizures, but I'm guessing not. The good news is that she is very happy![]()
I am sorry I rambled on so much, but when I post something on here, I feel like any information is potentially helpful. From experience, if any of your frogs ever get it again, I would suggest bathing them in lukewarm water and mix a bit of cream polysporin in it, and just let them sit in that for about 5-10 minutes everyday.
